Yoga for adults and kids
Marion teaches Satyananda Yoga at Crann Og as well as in the wider Gort and Ennis area. She has been teaching since 1995.
Satyananda Yoga is a very holistic system that works on body, mind and spirit, to increase physical and mental wellbeing. With physical exercises (Asanas), breathing-techniques (Pranayama) relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and Meditation (Dhyana) the practitioner can develope a fit and supple body, a clear mind and a peaceful spirit.
Marion is also trained to take classes particularly tailored to the needs of children of various age groups. With physical excercises, postures, educational games, breathing practices, relaxation, visualisation and storytelling, the child will experience the benefits of Yoga in a fun way.
Single or group classes (up to 14) can be arranged to suit individual needs and circumstances.
See more photos of the yoga space.
Totem Animal imagery
Flor has trained in animal imagery, which explores the depth of self through window of imagery, which allows our animals to guide us to dicover aspects of ourselves, we intuitively know and recognise.
For example, Rachel journeyed to meet her animals, she dicovered she was naturally left handed but had been trained to use her right since childhood.
This is her first painting with her left hand:
Flor can facilitate groups or individuals.
Native woodland walks
We can guide you on a walk through the native broadleave woodlands, bogs and heaths, discovering and exploring the various wildlife habitats and folklore with its unique character.
We will find wild food and drink fresh water from spring wells. We will use binoculars to get to know the local landscapes and magnifiying glasses to look at the very small details of nature.
Depending on group size, ages and agility, tours can be varied in length and challenge to make it an enjoyable experience for everybody.
Wildlife watching and tracking
For a closer look at wildlife, we can bring you out at the crack of dawn to experience the awakening landscape, listen to the enchanting morning chorus of the birds or watching the deer coming out into the open to graze. We can follow their tracks and those of other elusive creatures, to get to know their ways of life.
As nature-lovers we consider it our duty to make sure that the safety and wellbeing of the ecosystem is repected at all times.
Magical kids trail
A magical tour through Drummin woodlands, meeting those who live there, the folklore of the trees, flowers, herbs and animals of the woods in a creative way with down-to-earth wisdom, using storytelling, games and other surprises!
Mystical tours to ancient sites
You will meet the ancient ancestors of this land, while visiting magical rivers, tree circles, wells and hidden chambers, peaceful places, standing stones, castle and church ruins, beautiful natural landscapes... all the while being aware of that which nature has to reveal to us today.
We can explore locally or travel a little further to The Burren National Park, or Galway city or further to the native-speaking Connemara.
Cycling tours
Cycling is an eco-friendly way of experiencing the countryside. The back roads and walkways of South Galway and East Clare offer adventurous cycling and walking trips into the heart of rural Ireland. You can bring your own bike or rent one of ours. We will facilitate you with maps and information.
Pony walks
There is no nicer perspective of landscapes than from a horse’s back... At Crann Og we have three friendly ponies who would willingly carry you for a walk to the river or through the wood and bogland. Each pony will be led by one of us, so previous equestrian experience is not necessary. You will be introduced to the horses and the basic understanding of them before we set off.
See more pictures of the horses.
Campfire feast
We can prepare a feast cooked on an open camp fire for you. Whether you are vegetarian or a meat eater, we can satisfy your palate with old recipes of the travelling folk, bringing us back to the olden days when people gathered around the fire to share stories, songs and dance or just to gaze into the stars exploring the mysteries of the night.
Nature arts and crafts
On a rainy day or when you feel the need to be creative we can offer you materials and assistance to sculpt with willow or clay, to build shelters, make dream catchers and Bridgid’s crosses, seed mandalas or learn how to do sign writing.

Coole Park

This Nature Reserve is only 2 km away from Gort. Once the home of Lady Augusta Gregory, a well known folklorist and writer, now is one of the best places to go for a walk through the trails around the gardens and woodlands at the edge of the turlough.
It also offers plenty of cultural activities related with music, theatre, dance, poetry and natural heritage.
Yeats Tower
Here you can visit the residence of the poet William Butler Yeats, a sixteenth century Norman castle. In this museum you can find a collection of his writings and some preserved pieces of furniture.
Kilmacduagh Round Tower
Not far from Gort you can find an old monastic settlement with a round tower. The legend says that Saint Colman MacDuag was walking through the woods of The Burren when his girdle fell to the ground, taking it as a sign he decided to build the monastery on this place.

A few lakes and beaches are close by for walking and swimming or just relaxing beside the water.
Of course we have the cities of Galway, Ennis and Loughrea with plenty of culture, entertainment and good food. We have maps, leaflets and useful information available to you.
